5 Seconds of Summer received an unwelcome surprise as their song “Jet Black Heart” leaked online Thursday.

The leak, however, triggered a positive effect: “Heart” subsequently darted to No. 2 on the real-time Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 (held back from No. 1 by the huge buzz of Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?")

“Jet Black Heart” was originally slated to drop on Aug. 28 at midnight as a bonus track for fans who pre-ordered their upcoming album, Sounds Good Feels Good, due out Oct. 23. The 14-track collection includes two already-released songs -- current single “She’s Kinda Hot” and “Fly Away.” Both cuts have logged several hours at No. 1 on the Trending 140, with “Hot” having reached the chart’s top two for four straight days (Aug. 23 - Aug. 26).
