Radio veteran John Shomby has departed from Cumulus Media after four years with the company, a source tells Billboard. Shomby joined the company in February 2016 to oversee the Nashville campus where he served as director of programming, NASH Network, Cumulus Media; and program director, WKDF-FM (NASH-FM 103.3).

In addition to WKDF, Shomby oversaw American Country Countdown With Kix Brooks as well as Nash Nights Live.

In 2019, Shomby was spotlighted as part of Billboard’s Country Power Players List. In April 2019, WKDF took first place in the Nashville market with a 6.3 share of listeners 6 years and older, while iHeartRadio’s WSIX and Cumulus’ WSM took second and third, respectively.

Previously, Shomby worked at Max Media/Norfolk, including Country WGH, as well as stations in Dallas and Augusta, Georgia.

Shomby did not respond to request for comment at time of publishing.
