Apple Music's ALT CTRL playlist is getting its own series on Beats 1 launching Tuesday (Jan. 28).

Hosted by Beats 1’s leading editorial news anchor Hanuman Welch, ALT CTRL will be a weekly show highlighting new alternative releases, anchored by an interview with that week’s cover star. This week, Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig joins Welch for a discussion of the Grammys and the alternative music genre, while 2020 best new artists nominees Black Pumas and Maggie Rogers will also be on hand. In future episodes, Welch will host guests spanning the alternative music spectrum like Billie Eilish, The 1975 and White Reaper.

“ALT CTRL is a home for artists (and like-minded listeners) who see the world a bit differently,” said Apple Music in a press release, “whether they gravitate towards guitars, electronics, or a modern collision of the two.”

This is just the latest Beats 1 series spun off from one of Apple Music's popular playlists. Others introduced over the last few months have included Rap Life With Ebro Darden, Today's Country With Kelleigh Bannen and danceXL With Anna Lunoe.

Stream the debut episode of ALT CTRL With Hanuman Welch on Apple Music’s Beats 1 at 11 p.m. EST Tuesday. For a special preview, stream clips from the episode below.
