Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed indie-pop singer, songwriter and producer King Princess to a worldwide deal covering her full catalog.
The 20-year-old Brooklyn native born Mikaela Straus splashed onto the scene in February 2018 with her tender debut single "1950," a tribute to Patricia Highsmith's 1952 novel The Price of Salt. She's the first signee to Mark Ronson's Zelig Records, which released "1950" along with her Make My Bed EP last June.
“Mikaela is one of the most authentic and creative artists I’ve seen debut in the last decade," shared Sony/ATV senior vp A&R Jennifer Knoepfle. "She has an uncanny ability to convey her message and purpose through her wildly imaginative songwriting.”
