Sony/ATV Music Publishing is expected to name Rusty Gaston the new head of Sony/ATV Nashville. He replaces former president and CEO Troy Tomlinson, who left the company in June to become chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group Nashville.

Gaston was general manager and and partner of THIS Music, a Nashville-based publishing company he owns with songwriters Tim Nichols and Connie Harrington. Prior to co-founding THIS, the Texas native was GM of Song Garden Music, the publishing company run by producer Byron Gallimore

His start date and exact title are still to be determined.

Sony/ATV representatives had no comment. Gaston could not be immediately reached for comment.
