The arrangement is also reciprocated in France, where Because has sub-published much of the Concord Music Publishing catalog since 2008.

Rising pop singer Carlie Hanson has signed a worldwide co-publishing and administration deal with Primary Wave Music Publishing for past and future songs, Billboard can exclusively report. The announcement comes just weeks after the 18-year-old signed a recording contract with Warner Bros Records and released the video for her latest single, “Numb.” Her debut EP is scheduled for release later this year.
"Carlie's songwriting is badass and vastly developed for an 18-year-old," said Jake Livingston, head of A&R for Primary Wave Music Publishing. "On stage she wears her emotions on her sleeve as did her favorite singer, Kurt Cobain."
Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a deal with legendary country singer Dolly Parton, covering her extensive catalog and future releases in North America and territories not covered by existing sub-publishing arrangements. Sony/ATV Music Publishing would not state the type of deal.

Spirit Music Group has signed global publishing deal with songwriter and producer Gregg Wattenberg for his catalog, including songs recorded by Train (“If It’s Love”), Goo Goo Dolls (“Let Love In”), Phillip Phillips (“Gone, Gone, Gone” and “Raging Fire”), Five for Fighting (“Chances”) and more.
As part of the multi-faceted deal, Spirit Music Group will acquire the complete catalog of songs Wattenberg wrote under Sony/EMI, where Sony or the respective admin will still retain administration, while Spirit becomes the copyright owner. The company also acquired Wattenberg's publishing interest on songs he wrote for the WWE prior to Jan. 1, 2018, and songs that Wattenberg had publishing in from his Arcade Songs catalog. Spirit now admins the songs that Wattenberg has written that he self-publishes, Spirit co-publishes future works that Wattenberg writes, and Spirit and Wattenberg will co-publish anything signed under the new joint venture partnership.

Andy Mineo has signed a partial catalog and go-forward global publishing admin deal with Position Music. The agreement includes his two current EPs, The Arrow and The Sword, as well as his previous Magic and Bird project with Wordsplayed and all songs from 2017 on. His previous publishing catalog remains with his record label Reach Records’s publishing company.
The deal has already resulted in a prime placement of Mineo’s “I Ain’t Done” in the recent Under Armour campaign for Steph Curry’s new sneakers.

Entertainment One (eOne) has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Aaron Pearce. Under the worldwide co-publishing deal, eOne will acquire part of Pearce’s song catalog and will support Pearce going forward in signing songwriters to his new publishing venture, Vintern Songs.

Cage the Elephant has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing administration deal with BMG for their upcoming fifth album, Social Cues, which will be released April 19.

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced a worldwide administration agreement with new independent publishing company S2 Songs on March 11. The deal is a joint venture between the two companies on all music going forward. S2 Songs is led by multiple Grammy-nominated songwriter Savan Kotecha and music executive Sonny Takhar, founder and CEO of Live Nation joint venture KYN Entertainment.
"It's really great to be working again with Jody Gerson and David Gray who we have both known for most of our careers," said Kotecha and Takhar in a joint statement. "We know our songwriters and producers will benefit from having Universal Music Publishing's global muscle behind them."
