300 Entertainment has named Leesa Brunson-Boland head of A&R operations, the indie label announced Wednesday (May 6).

Brunson-Boland moves over from an 18-year stint at Def Jam, where she most recently served as senior vp A&R operations. In her new role, she will be based in New York and report to 300 Entertainment CEO and co-founder Kevin Liles -- who served as Def Jam president during several of the years Brunson-Boland worked there. "It feels like my career has come full circle returning to Kevin and the 300 family," Brunson-Boland said in a statement.

Brunson-Boland's career began in A&R at Elektra Records, where she oversaw the careers of artists like Busta Rhymes, Lil' Mo and Missy Elliot. Over the years, the 2016 Billboard Women In Music honoree has worked with artists including Teyana Taylor, Jeezy, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Fabolous, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Jhene Aiko and Logic.

"In building any new business, the power of talent is key to success and growth," Liles said. "It’s an honor to welcome Leesa Brunson-Boland to our 300 family as our new Head of A&R Operations. She is a leader and an inspiring individual."

"Her artist-first mentality coupled with her expertise in the field makes her a perfect addition to the executive leadership team here at 300," he continued. "Not only is she a former Def Jam 18 year alum, but she has also grown to be one of the most dynamic individuals in our culture."
