Executive Turntable: Moves at BMG, Warner Chappell Music, Audiomack & More

Jason Hradil was promoted to LA-based senior vice president, global repetoire at BMG, the company announced on July 29. In his new role, Hradil will be responsible for marketing all inbound and outbound frontline international repertoire to and from the US. He will report to Fred Casimir, BMG’s Berlin-based evp global recordings.

“I am delighted that Jason who has been working our US recorded business from day one will now step up to this position," Casimir stated in a press release. "Jason exemplifies BMG’s values and has shown himself able to work across a wide range of genres.”

Hradil joined BMG in 2011, where he was the company’s first recorded music employee in the US.

 


 

Warner Chappell Music announced the promotion of Daniel Mora to managing director, Warner Chappell Music Colombia on July 31. Mora will report to Gustavo Menendez, president, Warner Chappell Music, Latin America.

"It’s incredible, the amount of talent coming out of Colombia, one of the most exponentially growing music markets in Latin America,” said Mora in a press release. “I’m privileged to work with some of the best songwriters in the world and excited to continue growing our roster in the region. I’d like to thank Gustavo for this wonderful new opportunity, and the global WCM team for their amazing support.”

Mora first joined Warner Chappell Music in 2013 as an A&R/Sync consultant. After the opening of WCM's Colombian offices, he was named director, A&R/Sync.

 


 

Brian Zisook was named vice president of content operations and artist services at Audiomack on Wednesday (July 31). Zisook will manage all artist and record label accounts, support administration team and rights holders, oversee applications for AMP monetization program, and operate content ingestion feeds. Zisook joined Audiomack upon the company's launch in 2012 as one of its five founding members, serving as an artist relations consultant from January 2012 through June 2019. 

Audiomack also announced that Tanya Lawson is the company's new director of Reggae and Afrobeats. Lawson will be overseeing Reggae and Afrobeats curation as well as content and events. 

 


 

Big Deal Music Group promoted Joe Maggini to svp, head of global synch and Danielle Levy to vp, synch - film + TV, the company announced August 1. The two were formerly vp and director, synch, respectively.

"Joe has done a tremendous job leading our Synch Department, generating powerful opportunities for our songwriters," stated Kenny MacPherson, CEO of Big Deal Music Group in a press release. "Ever since her arrival, Danielle has made a huge difference for us.  Her deep relationships within the Film and TV industry and her intuitive sense of where our writers fit have made her a valuable member of the team. Joe and Danielle are both very deserving of these new roles at the company."

Maggini joined Big Deal Music Group in 2017, after a successful run as head of Format Music Solutions. Levy joined Big Deal Music in 2016, after a number of years as a creative manager at Zync Music

 


 

Elektra Music Group company announced two new appointments to its marketing staff on August 1. Suzy Yoder has been promoted to head of digital marketing, based in New York, while Katie Robinson is joining the company as vp, marketing, based in Los Angeles.

Yoder joined the Elektra label in 2017 as director of digital marketing, and was previously in digital marketing at Republic Records. Robinson's appointment marks her return to the Warner Music family, where she worked with the Atlantic and Fueled By Ramen rosters from 2006 to 2013, rising to Senior Director of Marketing. She was most recently global head of marketing at Red Bull Records, and formerly in marketing at Interscope.

Entertainment One is expanding its music management business with the addition of Amelia Artists. The announcement was made by Chris Taylor, eOne’s global president, Music on August 1. Led by Nick Blasko and Piers Henwood, Amelia Artists is the artist management company behind Tegan and Sara, Luca Fogale, The Funk Hunters, Bedouin Soundclash, The Librarian, Fintan, and Astrocolor.

“We are so excited to have Nick and Piers and the entire Amelia team join up with eOne," said Taylor in a statement. "They are 5-star human beings with an incredible roster of talent.”

Amelia Artists will continue to be based in Victoria, British Columbia with a presence in eOne’s Los Angeles Music headquarters.

 


 

The Academy of Country Music is announcing promotions within two departments and two new hires to join the Academy staff. Melissa Moldovan has been promoted to senior manager, marketing; Mary Pambukyan has been promoted to manager, finance & operations; Bridget Cirone has been promoted to coordinator, marketing, Jenny Dunn has joined the staff as coordinator, strategic partnerships and Libby Gardner has joined the staff as coordinator, creative & content. All positions are based out of the Academy’s headquarters in Encino, Calif.

In her expanded role at the Academy, Moldovan will execute all ACM radio promotions and lead on Academy and ACM Lifting Lives press materials and marketing initiatives, to oversee ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp publicity, ACM Honors credentialing, and more. She reports to Brooke Primero, svp, marketing.

As manager, finance & operations, Pambukyan will continue to support all ACM financial initiatives and oversee office operations. She reports to Alexa Fasheh, vp of finance & operations.

Cirone will support all publicity and marketing initiatives for the Academy and ACM Lifting Lives. She also reports Primero.

In her new role, Dunn will assist the Strategic Partnerships department and report to Jen Heaton, senior director, strategic partnerships.

Gardner previously interned at the Academy in the creative department and following her graduation in 2018, continued working for the Academy as a freelance field producer. She will report to Lisa Lee, svp, creative & content.

 


 

In other BMG news, the company announced two new appointments to its Los Angeles-based Frontline Recorded Music team August 1. 

Rob Gross joins as vp, marketing, recorded music, with Vaneza Pitynski joining as director, digital marketing, recorded music.

In his new role, Gross will be responsible for overseeing the projects of BMG’s roster of rock and alternative artists including A Perfect Circle, Alice In Chains and Dhani Harrison. He will report to Thomas Scherer, evp, repertoire & marketing, Los Angeles. 

Pitynski is responsible for spearheading all digital strategy and marketing efforts for the LA Frontline Recorded team. She previously held roles at Interscope Records and 19 Entertainment where she was responsible for working with both A-level and developing artists. Pitynski will report to Dan Gill, gm/svp, sales, recorded music.
