(L-R) Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles perform "Who Says You Can't Go Home" in concert on Jan. 17, 2006, at the Philips Arena in Atlanta.

The rock icons and Sugarland's frontwoman topped Hot Country Songs with their crossover hit.

On May 6, 2006, Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles' "Who Says You Can't Go Home" spent its first of two weeks atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

Co-penned by Jon Bon Jovi and longtime bandmate Richie Sambora, the song was released on Bon Jovi's 2005 album Have a Nice Day. While country radio gravitated to the duet version, pop and adult formats played Bon Jovi's solo take (with both included on the LP). The song also hit the top 10 on Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary.

"Home" is Nettles' lone No. 1 on Hot Country Songs apart from Sugarland, with Kristian Bush. The duo has scored five leaders, a run that began after "Home," with "Want To" in December 2006. In 2018, the act released Bigger, its first new album since 2010.

"Home" marks Bon Jovi's only Hot Country Songs leader among three entries. The New Jersey legends were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Last September, Bon Jovi (now 59) and Nettles (46) reunited for "Do What You Can," a song celebrating unity amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
