The Hot Latin Songs chart blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data. “Bichota” arrives at No. 7 mainly on the strength of streaming activity. The song earned 4 million on-demand streams in the week ending Oct. 29 and yields a No. 5 debut on Latin Streaming Songs.
“Bichota” also secures a No. 1 arrival on Latin Digital Songs chart with 1,000 downloads sold.
Notably, out of the 26 songs that have debuted on Hot Latin Songs in 2020 so far, only seven include a female artist -- whether in a lead role or as a featuring act. Out of those, only one debuts in the top 10 without another act: Karol G’s “Bichota.”
Concurrently, out of the 11 titles with a female act that secured a spot in the chart’s top 10 in 2020, only two arrived without a collaborative act: Karol G’s “Ay, Dios Mío” (peaked at No. 5, Sept. 12-dated list) and her own “Bichota,” which, as previously mentioned, debuts at No. 7 on the current chart.
“This year I‘ve had four songs which are part of Billboard’s top 10 most important titles in the Latin market, two of them as a solo act,” Karol G adds. “My personal challenge this year was to achieve it on my own and the best part of this incredible result is to continue to carry the message of the great things one can achieve. We are all super Bichotas inside. It’s about believing and working so that the rest of the world can see it too.”
