24kGoldn Hits No. 1 on Emerging Artists Chart, Powered by Rising Hit 'Mood'

Plus, Orville Peck debuts at No. 5.

24kGoldn leaps from No. 10 to No. 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart (dated Aug. 29) to become the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, powered in large part by his new single "Mood," featuring iann dior.

The song surges 84-26 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 15.1 million U.S. streams (up 107%), 2.2 million radio audience impressions (up 265%) and 4,000 downloads sold (up 140%) in the latest tracking week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The track also debuts at No. 3 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and No. 11 on Hot Rap Songs.

Its profile boosted by TikTok activity, the song was released in late July and its official video premiered in early August.

"Mood" earned 24kGoldn (real name: Golden Landis Von Jones) his second career Hot 100 entry upon its debut last week, following "Valentino," which spent a week on the chart at No. 92 last November.

Also fueling 24kGoldn's Emerging Artists coronation, his prior release "City of Angels" ranks at No. 27 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, after reaching No. 7 in June.

Meanwhile, iann dior enters the Emerging Artists top 10 for the first time, jumping 15-10. Along with his chart action as featured on "Mood," he debuts at No. 50 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with his own track "Prospect," featuring Lil Baby.

24kGoldn succeeds City Girls atop Emerging Artists. The hip-hop duo led last week for a 12th total frame.

Elsewhere on Emerging Artists, Orville Peck debuts at No. 5, thanks to his new EP Show Pony. The set, which features a guest appearance from Shania Twain on the track "Legends Never Die," arrives at No. 8 on Americana/Folk Albums, No. 46 on Top Country Albums and No. 50 on Top Rock Albums with 5,000 equivalent album units earned.

Peck's 2019 debut LP Pony hit No. 5 on Heatseekers Albums.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.
