"Caution" becomes the band's first leader in over 13 years.
After more than 13 years away from the top spot, and despite a run of hits in between, The Killers are back at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs airplay chart.
"Caution," the Las Vegas band's latest single, rises 2-1 on the April 25-dated chart to become The Killers' first No. 1 on the list since "When You Were Young"; their lone prior leader reigned for two weeks in October 2006.
The Killers rewrite the record for the longest time between No. 1s in the Alternative Songs chart's three-decade history, ending a span of 13 years and six months away from the top spot. The mark previously belonged to Beck, who waited 12 years, eight months and two weeks between "E-Pro" (2005) and "Up All Night" (2017).
