As “Morir Solo” hits No. 1 on the Tropical Airplay chart (dated Feb. 8), Prince Royce gets his 17th No. 1 and continues to extend his record for the third-most leaders on the list. He trails Marc Anthony, who remains at the helm with a lofty 32 No. 1s, and Victor Manuelle with 27.

The bachata tune jumps 2-1 despite a 1% decline in audience impressions (to 3 million) earned in the week ending Feb. 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“I’m thankful that 10 years into my career people keep supporting my music,” Royce tells Billboard. “It comes at a perfect time with my new double album Alter Ego."

“Morir” was written by Royce and Yonathan ‘Micky’ Then and produced by D’lesly ‘Dice’ Lora and co-produced by Royce. It follows “Adicto,” with Marc Anthony, the first single of Royce’s forthcoming sixth studio aibum Alter Ego to enter Tropical Airplay and lead the chart for seven consecutive weeks.

“’Morir Solo’ is the third No. 1 off this album and I can’t wait to see what fans think about the other tracks,” Royce adds.

Double album Alter Ego is out now via Sony Music Latin.
