Tauren Wells Scores Career-Best Week on Top Christian Albums Chart With 'Citizen Of Heaven'

Tauren Wells notches his highest rank on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, as Citizen of Heaven starts at No. 3 on the list dated Feb. 8.  

In its first week, ending Jan. 30, the set earned 6,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, additionally marking Wells' best weekly total to-date.

Wells, from Battle Creek, Michigan, tallies his second top-five title on Top Christian Albums, after Hills and Valleys reached No. 5 in August 2017.  

He first reached the chart with the EP Undefeated, which hit No. 33 in June 2017.

The new set's lead single, "Like You Love Me," climbs 17-15 on the Christian Airplay chart, up 17% to 3.4 million audience impressions in the week ending Feb. 2. On the Hot Christian Songs chart, which blends streaming, airplay and sales data, "Love" bolts 28-19, also surging by 189% to 535,000 U.S. streams.

Plus, Rhett Walker, former frontman of Rhett Walker Band, achieves his first top 10 on Hot Christian Songs, as his first solo entry, "Believer," pushes 11-10. On Christian Airplay, the song, co-penned by Walker, holds at its No. 6 high, up 7% to 8.7 million in audience. It also sports a 74% gain to 672,000 streams and a 17% uptick to 1,000 sold.

Rhett Walker Band logged three entries on Hot Christian Songs, in 2012-13: "When Mercy Found Me" peaked at No. 15, followed by "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" (No. 46) and "Come to the River" (No. 20).
