Myke Towers

It’s the Puerto Rican rapper’s first entry on any Billboard albums chart.

Myke Towers clocks his first leader on the Top Latin Albums chart as Easy Money Baby debuts at No. 1 on the Feb. 10 survey.

It’s the Puerto Rican’s first appearance on any Billboard Albums chart which concurrently, bows atop the Latin Rhythm Albums chart. His sophomore full-length album arrives atop the chart with 12,000 equivalent album units accrued in the week ending Jan. 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

"This is a giant step in this new phase of my career,” Towers tells Billboard. “This is an album in which I gave it all for my fans who have long expected this release. The first time is always special and to debut at No. 1 not only on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart but on the overall Top Latin Albums chart is a dream come true!”

Top Latin Albums ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

The bulk of Easy Money’s opening sum is attributed to streaming activity. The 18-track effort registered a little over 11,000 in SEA units which equates to 15.1 million on-demand streams for the set’s tracks.

No. 1 Debut With First Chart Appearance: The new father, who shares the album’s cover with his infant son, debuts at No. 1 in his first chart visit. Towers becomes the rare act to grab a chart leader in its first try since Bad Bunny secured his first No. 1 on Top Latin Albums with X 100Pre (Jan. 5, 2019).

Highest Charting Hot Latin Songs Entry: Towers also scores his highest debut on Hot Latin Songs as “Girl,” a reimagining of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions,” arrives at No. 23. it follows “Si Se Da,” with Farruko, which peaked at No. 11 on the Aug. 31, 2019-dated list. “The cherry on top is that ‘Girl’ marks my highest debut on Hot Latin Songs,” Towers adds. “This is all a reflection of the hard work from the past years: perfecting my art for the enjoyment of the fans.”

Elsewhere, “Girl” opens at No. 17 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
