My Chemical Romance isn't the only band scoring major sales and streaming gains after a reunion announcement. Rage Against the Machine, which revealed its return to performing a day after MCR on Nov. 1, drew surges for its catalog in the tracking week ending Nov. 7.
The rap-rock band bounded by 48% to 8.6 million on-demand streams for its catalog in that span, according to Nielsen Music. Additionally, the quartet earned 7,000 album units (up 69%), 2,000 of which were via album sales, as well as 3,000 song downloads.
Leading the way, Rage's self-titled 1992 debut LP bows at No. 42 on Top Rock Albums with 5,000 units.
