"Mi Meta Contigo" scores band their second No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay chart.

Banda Los Sebastianes hit No. 1 with “Mi Meta Contigo” on the latest Regional Mexican Airplay chart (dated Nov. 9). It’s their second leader of the year, which follows the six-week ruler “A Través del Vaso” (Feb. 16-dated list).

The Horacio Palencia-written tune lands atop the chart, moving 3-1 thanks to a 14% increase in audience impressions (to 7.2 million) earned in the week ending Nov. 3, according to Nielsen Music.

“We are extremely happy to see the payoff of our efforts and dedication towards our music and audience,” Saúl Plata, manager of Banda Los Sebastianes tells Billboard. “Aside from being a great honor, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart tells us that we’re doing things right and motivates us to keep striving for more.”

“Mi Meta” exceeds its predecessor’s climb to No. 1 as it lands at the summit in its 11th week, while “A Través” journey to the top in its 21st frame. In between, the band placed another song in the top 15: “Un Año,” featuring Sebastián Yatra (No. 11, July 13-dated list).

“We have witnessed Banda Los Sebastianes’ incredible hard work and persistence to achieve significant artistic growth and it brings us, the Fonovisa/ Disa/ Universal Music Latin Entertainment family great satisfaction to see them reach a No. 1 on the chart,” Martha Ledezma, Senior Director, Marketing at Universal Music Latin Entertainment Fonovisa/ Disa - USA-Mexico, tells Billboard. “We are very proud to have them as part of our roster and are excited to see all the future success for them.”

“Mi Meta” is the follow-up single from En Vida, the band’s seventh studio album, which peaked at No. 17 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart in February 2018 and is nominated for a Latin Grammy for best banda music album.

Farther down Regional Mexican Airplay, Los Tigres del Norte lock up their 44th top 10 as “La Prision de Bolsom (Folsom Prison Blues)” lifts 12-9. With the climb, the quintet extends its record for the most top 10s since the chart’s inception in 1994.

The lead single of the band’s two-live concert recordings at Folsom Los Tigres del Norte At Folsom Prison, the band’s first soundtrack album which debuted at No. 10 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart (Sept. 28-dated lost), advances with 4.62 million in audience impressions (up 9%), earned in the week ending Nov. 3.

“La Prison” becomes the band’s first top 10 since 2014 when “La Bala” hit No. 1 and ruled for one week. Since then, Los Tigres have placed three titles on Regional Mexican Airplay, all below the top 15 mark.
