Megan Thee Stallion scores her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Songs airplay chart as “Hot Girl Summer,” her collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, climbs from the runner-up rank on the chart dated Oct. 26. The song ascends despite a 1% drop in plays on the format in the week ending Oct. 20, according to Nielsen Music.
“Summer,” which reaches the summit in its 10th week on the chart, has easily outshone the Houston rapper’s prior entries on Rhythmic Songs: Debut release “Big Ole Freak” notched a No. 21 peak in May, while “Cash Shit,” featuring DaBaby, halted at No. 24 last month.
Ty Dolla $ign, meanwhile, collects his third No. 1 on Rhythmic Songs and first not in a featured role. He previously reigned through guest turns on Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home,” a one-week winner in 2016 and on Post Malone’s “Psycho,” a four-week champ last year.
