Lil Tecca's 'Love' Conquers All On Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart

Lil Tecca crowns Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as his debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca, opens at No. 1 on the list dated Sept. 14. The 17-song project starts with 68,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Sept. 5, according to Nielsen Music.

As with most hip-hop projects, streaming contributed the lion’s share of the sum. 64,000 units of Tecca’s opening total derive from streaming, amounting to 100.5 million on-demand audio streams for its tracks. The figure makes Tecca the most-streamed album on the chart.

In addition to its No. 1 entrance on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Tecca likewise kicks off atop the Top Rap Albums chart and at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

As Tecca enters, four of its cuts debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs: “Out of Luck” (No. 32), “Shots” (No. 35), “Love Me,” (No. 41) and “Amigo” (No. 49).

Plus, the set’s previously released single “Ran$om” moves 3-2 to arrive at a new peak in its 14th week on the list. The track holds at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart for a third week and pulls 49.4 million U.S. streams in the week ending Sept. 5, down 1% from the prior week. “Ran$om” continues its upward march on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, picking up a 27% gain to 5.9 million in audience in the week ending Sept. 8. Elsewhere, the track jumps into the top five of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 with a 6-4 rise.

Back on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, another previously released Tecca cut, “Did It Again,” flies 36-24 and snags the week’s Streaming Gainer prize. “Again” opens at No. 22 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs thanks to 12.7 million U.S. streams, a 38% surge from the prior week.
