'It feels so good to be able to swing open the door wider for female artists,' says the trio's Naomi Cooke.

Runaway June's "Buy My Own Drinks" becomes the group's first top 10 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, as it climbs 12-10 on the Sept. 7-dated survey, up 2% to 21.7 million in format audience.

The song continues momentum for the trio of Naomi Cooke, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne. Runaway June's debut LP Blue Roses launched at No. 5 on Country Album Sales and No. 36 on Top Country Albums in July, while the act's supporting role, with Maddie & Tae, on Carrie Underwood's all-female-billed Cry Pretty Tour 360, which launched in May, runs through Oct. 31.

"Drinks" holds another distinction: It's the first top 10 on the tally by a group of at least three members consisting entirely of women since August 2005, when SheDaisy's "Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing" hit No. 7.

"It's a truly incredible feeling to be celebrating our first top 10," Cooke says. "We are overwhelmed. This has been such exciting year: being on the road with Carrie and releasing our first album. It feels so good to be able to swing open the door wider for female artists."

Runaway June is the fourth all-female group (again, of three members of more) to hit the Country Airplay top 10, dating to the chart's January 1990 inception. Dixie Chicks notched 14 top 10s, in 1998-2002, followed by SheDAISY (four, 1999-2005) and The Forester Sisters (two, 1990-91).

Prior to "Drinks," Runaway June reached Country Airplay with "Lipstick," which hit No. 28 in 2017, and "Wild West" (No. 36, 2018).
