Sheeran's guest-filled new LP debuted at No. 1 last Friday with 125,000 combined chart sales, making it the fastest-selling album of 2019, with three songs from it penetrating the top 5, led by the No. 1 track "Beautiful People" featuring Khalid.
No.6 Collaborations Project is still flying, as it leads the Official Albums Chart Update ahead of Freya Ridings’ self-titled debut album via Good Soldier, which includes the top 10 single “Lost Without You” and the more recent release “Castles,” which rises to No. 18 on the midweek survey.
Also new to the chart is Thom Yorke’s Anima (XL Recordings), which is set to for its top 40 debut following its physical release. The Radiohead frontman’s new set is at No. 4 on the sales blast and could become his first top 10 album as a solo artist since The Eraser hit No. 3 in 2006.
Just one place behind Shakespears Sister, the reunited group of Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit whose Singles Party (1988-2019) (London Music Stream) starts at No. 5. The career-spanning compilation, which features two new tracks “All the Queens’ Horses” and “C U Next Tuesday,” could score the duo a first top 10 in 27 years.
On the Official Singles Chart Update, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Senorita” (EMI/Syco) takes the lead, ahead of three Ed Sheeran-led tracks (“Beautiful People,” “Cross Me,” “I Don’t Care”), with Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” (Interscope) completing the top 5.
