It’s a bright, shiny new week for Kylie Minogue as the Australian pop legend’s latest album Golden bows at No. 1 in her homeland, while Drake collects an 11th consecutive week atop the national singles chart with “God’s Plan” (Republic/Universal).
Kylie’s Golden (Liberator Music/BMG), her 14th studio album, becomes her fifth No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart after Light Years (2000), Fever (2001), X (2007), and Kiss Me Once (2014). It’s also the chart-leader this week in the U.K.., where the lead track “Dancing” is her 51th top 40 single.
The celebrations won't stop there for the Melbourne-raised, London-based singer. Next month, the ARIA Hall of Famer will be spinning around for her 50th birthday and in September she’ll hit the road for her Golden World Tour. Kylie joins labelmate Vance Joy (Nation of Two) as the only homegrown artists to lead the ARIA Albums Chart in 2018.
