Plus, Calum Scott blasts 37-4 & Alice Merton hits a new peak at No. 8.

Bad Wolves are the top emerging act in the U.S., as the metalcore group jumps 9-1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart (dated March 24).

The band tops the chart, as its cover of The Cranberries' 1994 Alternative Songs No. 1 hit "Zombie" debuts at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, and rises 8-5 on the Hot Rock Songs chart.

Bad Wolves' version of "Zombie" sold 44,000 downloads, a 189 percent increase, in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music, and vaults 27-2 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart. The track also logged 5.1 million U.S. streams (up 27 percent), helping it rise 18-6 on the Rock Streaming Songs chart.

The Emerging Artists chart uses the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.

Bad Wolves are the first group to top Emerging Artists since country act LANCO on the Jan. 6-dated chart and the first rock group since PVRIS in September.

Meanwhile, The Cranberries' original "Zombie" sold 5,000 downloads (up 83 percent) and drew 1.4 million U.S. streams (up 14 percent) in the tracking week.

Elsewhere on Emerging Artists, British pop singer-songwriter Calum Scott vaults 37-4, entering the top 10 for the first time as his debut album, Only Human, opens at No. 66 on the Billboard 200 with 9,000 equivalent album units.

The set's current single, "You Are the Reason," with fellow Brit Leona Lewis, holds at its No. 13 high on the Adult Contemporary chart. The album includes Scott's cover of Robyn's "Dancing on My Own,"which reached No. 15 on AC in 2016, after hitting No. 2 on the Official UK Singles chart. The remake also peaked at No. 93 on the Hot 100 in March 2017.

Rounding out the Emerging Artists top five, Jordan Davis holds at No. 2, Devin Dawson rises 4-3, and Trippie Redd leaps 7-5, matching his peak.

Plus, Alice Merton logs a new Emerging Artists peak at No. 8, rising from No. 17. Her breakthrough single "No Roots," a former No. 1 on Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative songs, rises 38-35 on the Pop Songs airplay chart.
