Blake Shelton's Country Freaks Tour Leads Latest Hot Tours Recap

Blake Shelton takes the No. 1 ranking on the latest weekly tally of top-grossing Hot Tours (see below) based on the first box office counts reported from his Country Music Freaks tour. Currently running stateside through mid-March, the winter trek grossed $5.6 million from its first six sold out performances with 72,327 tickets sold.    

The tour kicked off on Feb. 15 in Tulsa, Okla., with 13,578 fans present at the BOK Center, the city’s 10-year-old arena. The opening performance was the best attended among these first six dates and one of two to top $1 million in sales. Shelton’s Feb. 24 performance at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis is his top grosser with a $1,071,815 take from 13,473 sold seats.    

On the road in support of his November 2017 release Texoma Shore, the country star lined up a total of 14 dates at arenas in U.S. markets during the month-long run. Produced by AEG’s Messina Touring Group, the jaunt includes Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and veteran Trace Adkins on the bill as show openers. It continues through March 17 with a final performance booked at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. 

This is Shelton’s third consecutive year to hit the road earlywith a brief winter run during February and March. In 2016 he played 11 dates to promote the upcoming release of his If I’m Honest album that arrived in May of that year. Last year he launched his Doing It To Country Songs tour in mid-February and played 13 American arenas during a four-week span. Overall gross totals from both previous years topped the $9 million mark based on a sold ticket count that surpassed 150,000.
