The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new Jan. 27-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Cabello is set to debut) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, Jan. 21.
Industry prognosticators suggest Cabello’s album -- which was released on Jan. 12 through Epic Records -- could launch with perhaps 90,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Jan. 18. It will easily be the week’s biggest debut. However, standing in the way of a No. 1 bow is the chart’s current topper, the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman, which is currently in its second week atop the list. In the week ending Jan. 4, the soundtrack earned 104,000 units (declining only 3 percent compared to the previous week) according to Nielsen Music. If the soundtrack does not erode too dramatically in the week ending Jan. 11, it could hold on to the top slot for a third straight week.
