Plus, Luke Bryan vaults to No. 4, his highest placement in over two years.

Ed Sheeran rises 2-1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Dec. 30) to earn his sixth total week atop the ranking and his first since the April 22-dated chart.

The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Sheeran's return to No. 1 is powered by his second career No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 "Perfect," with Beyonc√©, which tallies its second week atop the chart. The song concurrently keeps at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart for a third week (with 98,000 downloads sold, down 46 percent, according to Nielsen Music); rises to No. 2 on Radio Songs (up 13 percent to 116 million audience impressions); and holds at No. 3 on Streaming Songs (up 14 percent to 40 million streams).

Digital song sales account for the greatest share of Sheeran's Artist 100 points (33 percent), followed by album sales (24 percent), as his set ÷ (Divide) rises to No. 3 on the Billboard 200, its highest placement since May. The album spent two consecutive weeks at No. 1 after its release in March.

Further, Sheeran passes Kendrick Lamar for the seventh-most weeks at No. 1 on the Artist 100:

Most Weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100
36, Taylor Swift
25, Drake
14, The Weeknd
11, Justin Bieber
10, Adele
7, Bruno Mars
6, Ed Sheeran

Elsewhere on the Artist 100, country star Luke Bryan surges 57-4 as his latest album What Makes You Country debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 108,000 equivalent album units. The album is Bryan's fourth No. 1 on the list. Bryan previously spent a week at No. 1 on the Artist 100 in 2015 concurrent with the Billboard 200 debut of his previous set, Kill the Lights.

Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Taylor Swift rises 4-2, Pentatonix climbs 5-3, and Post Malone pushes 6-5.
