Past July 4th and with about a month to go to wear white in socially-acceptable fashion, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, continues to be the hottest song of the summer of 2017. Over the first nine weeks of Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart, the track has ranked at No. 1 in each frame.
So, at about two-thirds of the way through summer, the collab, which has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks and counting, tying for the longest reign of the year, remains in the lead in the race for the season's biggest hit.
The 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be crowned.
