'Orange Is the New Black' Tracks Dominate June Top TV Songs Chart

Led by LP's "Muddy Waters," the Netflix series slots four titles in the top five of the list.

Orange Is the New Black paces the June edition of THR's Top TV Songs chart, as the Netflix hit is responsible for four of the top five positions (and six of the entire 10), led by the season-finale-soundtracking "Muddy Waters" by singer-songwriter LP. Notably, the series makes its chart presence felt for the month despite not returning with its new season until June 17.

Rankings for the Top TV Songs chart are based on cumulative monthly Shazam tags, as well as sales and streaming information tracked by Nielsen Music during the same period.

LP's track, from her EP Death Valley (released in June), crowns the chart after snagging 139,000 Shazam tags, 8,000 downloads sold and 468,000 U.S. streams during June, according to Nielsen Music. After the episode's June 17 premiere (along with the rest of the show's fourth season), the track leapt by a whopping 20,756 percent in digital sales to 4,000 in the week ending June 23, up from nearly none the week before.

At No. 2 on Top TV Songs, Eminem's "Bitch Please II," from 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP, ranks in the runner-up spot thanks to its appearance in the show's third episode of the new Orange season. Along with 137,000 Shazam tags, the track garnered 5,000 downloads sold and 663,000 streams in June, jumping by 2,832 percent to 3,000 sold in the week ending June 23.

The first non-Orange-related title on Top TV Songs for June belongs to another track from a season finale: Ramin Djawadi's instrumental "Light of the Seven," from the 10th and final episode of Game of Thrones' sixth season, which aired June 26. The nearly 10-minute song -- played over a pivotal part of not only the show's season, but the series' run as a whole -- places at No. 3 with 108,000 Shazam tags, 14,000 downloads and 1.2 million streams in June; all  were drawn in the week ending June 30, as the song was not previously available commercially. Another Djawadi composition, "The Winds of Winter," from the same episode, debuts at No. 10.
