Fat Joe Says He Wanted to 'Keep It New York' by Recruiting Jay Z for 'All the Way Up' Remix: Listen

Initially released May 24 as a Tidal exclusive, the remix was widely released on May 26. Sales from the remix account for 60 percent of the song’s total 36,000 downloads sold in the week ending June 2 (according to Nielsen Music). In turn, as the Jay Z remix is largely driving its chart placement, he has been added to the artist billing for the song on the chart. Streams increase 34 percent, to 7.8 million, with 37 percent stemming from YouTube views.

With the rise, Jay Z earns his 33rd top 10 as a result, maintaining his position as the rapper with the third-most top 10 hits on the chart in history. (Among rappers, Drake leads, with 50, while Lil Wayne is in second place, with 41.) Meanwhile, Fat Joe scores his fifth top 10 and French Montana notches his third. It’s the first top 10 for Remy Ma and Infared.

Over on the Billboard Hot 100, “Way Up” leaps 38-27 in its 10th charting frame.

Maxwell’s ‘Lake’ Leads:  On the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart, Maxwell earns his seventh No. 1 as “Lake by the Ocean” steps 2-1 in its ninth week (up 7 percent in spins in the week ending June 5). He ties with R. Kelly and Toni Braxton for the second-most No. 1s on the chart, trailing Alicia Keys’ record of 10. (The chart launched in 1993.) The singer last reached the top in 2013 with “Fire We Make,” a duet with Keys that spent 7 weeks at No. 1.

“Lake by the Ocean” previews Maxwell’s upcoming album, blackSUMMERS’night, due July 1.

‘Really Really’ Returns: Lastly, Kevin Gates’ single “Really Really” (from his Islah album, released in February) re-enters Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 18. The song returns due to newly increased support at radio (up 24 percent to 10.6 million audience impressions) after previously spending 21 weeks on the chart, powered mostly by streams and downloads (peaking at No. 14 on the April 16 dated chart). The return comes the same week Gates’ new mixtape, Murder for Hire II, starts at No. 3 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with 21,000 copies during the week.
