Lecrae, Chris Tomlin Lead Christian Charts

Reach Records

Christian rapper Lecrae's suddenly-released Church Clothes 3 starts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums with 26,000 sold in the week ending Jan. 21, according to Nielsen Music. The set scores the strongest sales opening of his three mixtapes in the Church Clothes series, following 2012's Church Clothes (2,000) and 2013's Church Clothes: Vol. 2 (15,000).

The new album is Lecrae's sixth Top Christian Albums No. 1, with all having debuted on top. 2014's Anomaly represents his best sales week (88,000) and crowned the Billboard 200. Concurrently, all 10 tracks on Church Clothes 3 debut on Hot Christian Songs, led by "Can't Do You" (featuring E-40) at No.18.

Also new on Top Christian Albums is Jesus Culture's Let It Echo at No. 2 (14,000). It's the worship collective's eighth appearance on the survey and finest sales start. 2014's Unstoppable Love (the act's lone No. 1) arrived with 12,000.

Finally, Chris Tomlin collects his sixth No. 1 on Hot Christian Songs as "Good Good Father" steps 2-1. It leads Christian Digital Songs for an eighth week, the last three in succession (11,000 downloads sold, up 4 percent). In addition to Tomlin, "Father," written by Pat Barrett and Tony Brown, has been recorded by Housefires, Zealand Worship, Casting Crowns and Big Daddy Weave. "My wife, Lauren, discovered the song for me," Tomlin told Billboard in December. "It's such a great song about God as a father and his love for people."
