Luke Bryan's "Roller Coaster" rode in at No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart on Aug. 18, thanks to a timely tweet from the country star. Bryan shared the lyrics to the track that day, causing the song to immediately jump to the top of the tally.

While the song was released a year ago on his Crash My Party album, its tweeted lyrics ("Sunday came and it was over") took on new meaning following Bryan's Gillette Stadium concert on Sunday, Aug. 10. That day, Bryan played to 60,000 fans at the Foxborough, Mass., venue, setting the record for a single-day country concert in the stadium's history.

The tweet received approximately 2,800 likes and 840 retweets a few short hours after the post, causing “Roller Coaster” to hit No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140.

The massive fan reaction on Twitter to Bryan’s tweet on Aug. 18 was a culmination of attention that Bryan had been building through previous Twitter posts. On Aug. 14, Bryan announced the release of the deluxe reissue of Crash My Party, which includes four bonus songs. That post caused “Roller Coaster” to ascend 11 spots on the chart, settling in at No. 16. The song is also Bryan's current radio single, as it rose 12-10 on the Country Airplay chart dated Aug. 30.

On Aug. 6, “Roller Coaster,” which had been fluctuating on the chart for the past two months, peaked at No. 1 after Bryan posted a personal photograph of him and friends on his Twitter feed. The post received 6,300 likes within the next few hours.
