Rich The Kid Signs With Rostrum Records

Rich The Kid is beginning his independent journey with a new deal with Rostrum Records, the label tells Billboard. The multi-million-dollar deal will serve as a partnership with BMG.

Going forward, the platinum-selling rapper will release new music under the label that once housed Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.

"Rich The Kid is a key voice of this generation, and we're very excited that he chose Rostrum as his new home," Rostrum founder and president Benjy Grinberg tells Billboard. "We look forward to amplifying his artistic vision and supporting his entrepreneurial ambitions. This is the beginning of a new chapter for us at Rostrum as we continue to break barriers in the independent label landscape."

Grinberg adds, "We are thrilled to partner with BMG to release Rich's upcoming music and further solidify his position as a leader in hip-hop."

The prestigious label, which rose to prominence in the early 2000s, now looks to build an equally successful relationship with Rich, who previously scored two Billboard top 20 records on the Hot 100 with "Plug Walk" and "New Freezer."

"I'm excited to work with Rostrum in this next chapter of life and music," Rich the Kid says. "This is a partnership that will be vital to showing artists that they can be independent and still win on a mainstream level. With the help of Benjy, Jae, and the Rostrum team, we will take over the summer and everything after."

At the start of his career, Rich The Kid was previously signed to Interscope Records and Republic Records before choosing the independent route in 2020. His last project came earlier this year when he released his EP Lucky 7.  On the project, he nabbed features from DaBaby, Quavo, Mulatto, Lil Mosey and more.
