WMG Names Karen Schoenrock CFO of Global Catalog, Recorded Music

Warner Music Group (WMG) has upped Karen Schoenrock to CFO of global catalog, recorded music and Rhino Entertainment, the company's catalog division.

Schoenrock enters her new role after nearly 20 years with WMG, 13 of which she served at Warner Records, where she was most recently vice president of finance. Based in Los Angeles, she will report to WMG president of global catalog, recorded music Kevin Gore.

"I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Karen over the last few years during her time at Warner Records, and I’ve always appreciated her insight, dedication, leadership, and positive outlook," Gore said. "She’ll be a critical member of our senior management team, and will play a key role in shaping our future strategies and finding ways to bring them to life with our teams around the world."

Schoenrock began her career in WMG's Special Products division in 2001, before moving on to the role of TV campaign manager and later, royalty manager. She joined Warner Records as finance manager in 2007, and rose the ranks to vice president of finance in 2016.

She replaces former Rhino CFO David Woirhaye, who was named executive vp and global CFO of WMG's publishing arm, Warner Chappell Music, last week.

"Warner Music Group has been my home for almost two decades -- nearly the entirety of my professional career," Schoenrock said. "I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the best people in the business and am grateful to my Warner Records family for a fantastic ride. I’m excited to start this new journey with Kevin and the entire Global Catalog and Rhino team, and look forward to working closely with the beloved and storied catalogs that we’re fortunate enough to care for."
