David Woirhaye Named Warner Chappell Music EVP & Global CFO

Warner Music Group (WMG) executive David Woirhaye has been elevated to executive vp and global CFO of the music company's publishing arm, Warner Chappell Music.

In his new role, Woirhaye is tasked with providing financial guidance to the global business, reporting to Warner Chappell co-chair/CEO Guy Moot and co-chair/COO Carianne Marshall.

"We’re delighted to welcome David to our Warner Chappell family," Moot and Marshall said in a joint statement. "As we continue to grow our global business and find new opportunities to super-serve our songwriters, his background and deep knowledge of the music industry and catalog management will be a huge asset for us. We’re looking forward to working together and continuing to make the best financial decisions for our business and our songwriters."

Woirhaye originally joined WMG in 2005, and worked in finance roles at the company's catalog division Rhino Records until 2013, when he a served a two-year stint heading finance and operations at Red Bull Records. He returned to WMG in 2015, and has spent the last five years as senior vp, CFO of Rhino Entertainment while also overseeing global catalog management at WMG -- a time during which he defended Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" in federal court and supported the catalogs of legends such has Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.
