Liz Gateley will transition from her role as a podcast executive at Spotify to a creative consultant with the audio streaming giant next year, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The veteran television executive, who joined Spotify in 2019 to lead its push to create more original podcasts, will continue to work closely with the company on projects she's been developing, including those from partners DC Comics and Mark and Jay Duplass. In her role as a consultant, she will also continue to help shepherd Spotify projects to film and TV. She is listed as a producer, for instance, on Hulu's forthcoming adaptation of Wind of Change, which Spotify produced in partnership with Crooked Media and Pineapple Street Studios. Spotify has yet to determine the timing of her transition.
Gateley most recently served as a programming executive at Lifetime, where she oversaw the launch of drama Unreal and docuseries Surviving R. Kelly. She jumped into the audio world in February 2019 when she took a role at Spotify leading creative development for its new in-house podcast studio. The move reunited her with former Lifetime executive and current Spotify content and advertising business chief Dawn Ostroff.
