Missed Riffs is utilizing Spotify’s recently-introduced music and spoken-word hybrid format, which allows creators to merge talk segments with complete, unedited music tracks. Each episode will be accompanied by an animated music video, along with social content that creators can share via platforms like TikTok and Triller and even design original dance challenges around.
“I’m beyond excited to be working with Audio Up on Missed Riffs!” said Pinfield in a statement. “The definitive history of artists that almost made it...and never existed! These stories and songs will have you rolling with laughter; we could all use some of that now more than ever in these craziest of times. We hope you have as much fun listening to this as we did making it!”
Added Gutstadt, “I'm extremely proud to have had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest recording artists of all time, from Bob Dylan, Lil Wayne, Machine Gun Kelly, 24kGoldn and Iann Dior to name-drop just a few. Now, with all this in mind, I'm super-excited to introduce my latest musical opus with none other than Matt Pinfield, the dean of music journalism, to tell the stories and expose the music of rap rockers 'Moshpocalypse,' twerk-rap-queen 'Clappy Gilmore,' Canada's 'The Noice Guys' and even 'Su$h!RoLl F4Ce+4T' (whose name should speak for itself) and if you don't recognize them it’s because they are completely fake bands, made-up by my team of writers and composers. We've unlocked a world of really cool musical stories that are packed to the brim with comedy, pathos and hard lived experience. And based on the fact that I've learned more from failing during my 20+ year career as a jingle man, than I have from succeeding within mainstream music.”
