Ticketmaster COO Amy Howe is stepping back from her role at the ticketing giant, Billboard has confirmed. In a statement provided by Ticketmaster, a representative said Howe has begun transitioning to a consulting role ahead of her exit next year. The news was first reported by Pollstar.

"Amy began shifting her responsibilities earlier this Fall to move into a consulting role for the next 12 months, after which she has decided it is the right time to continue on to the next chapter in her career. We wish Amy well on all of her future endeavors," the statement reads.

Howe has served as global COO of Ticketmaster since August, when she was promoted alongside now-Ticketmaster global chairman Jared Smith and global president Mark Yovich. Shortly after that in October, Smith announced that he would be leaving the company at a yet-to-be-determined date. Following Smith's departure, Yovich will take over his position and lead Ticketmaster.

Howe has been with Ticketmaster and Live Nation since 2016, when she started as chief strategy officer.

Ticketmaster has seen a number of staffing changes in 2020. In late October, the company announced that Marla Ostroff had been promoted to managing director, Ticketmaster, North America; Trevor Allin had been promoted to EVP, business and commercial operations, North America; and Maura Gibson joined in a new role as EVP, client solutions and strategy, North America.

The news of Howe's departure follows the announcement of Ticketmaster's plans for post-pandemic fan safety that uses smart phones to verify fans' vaccination status, or whether they've tested negative for the coronavirus within a 24 to 72 hour window.
