Founded in 2005 and acquired by Believe a decade later, TuneCore charges artists and labels an annual flat fee to distribute their music on digital services, and pays out 100% of what they make from streams and downloads. As of March, TuneCore artists have earned more than $1.8 billion on the platform, and TuneCore says that it and Believe together distribute close to one third of the world's digital music.
Gleeson joined TuneCore in 2015 as head of marketing, and served as chief marketing officer prior to today's promotion. Some of her immediate goals in the new role are to reimagine TuneCore's artist support and label relations divisions; pursue partnerships to maximize opportunities for the company's artists; and spearhead expansion into key international music markets. Over the past few months, TuneCore has expanded into Brazil, Russia and India, and the company says that further market launches are planned for the coming year.

Barrington, who joined TuneCore a decade ago and most recently served as chief financial officer, will oversee the finance, data, technology, product, operations and legal departments. "My time at TuneCore has been immensely fulfilling, having helped build the company from a start-up to where we are now," he commented. "It’s an extremely exciting time as we continue to refine our best-in-class technology and practices in order for TuneCore artists to receive maximum benefits as we scale, innovate and embark on TuneCore’s next chapter."
