Light Culture podcast hosted "How Did Hip Hop Find A Home In Fashion?"earlier this week with surprise guest April Walker, an unsung fashion icon whose first clients were Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur and is the founder of Walker Wear Founder. Walker was joined by hip hop historian and musical legend Fab 5 Freddy, The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion film producer Lisa Cortés, and Zoo York co-founder Eli Morgan Gesner.
The show highlighted the hip hop scene for both Los Angeles and New York in the 1980s, rooted in music, hip hop, skate, and fashion. Hosted by Paper Magazine Founder David Hershkovits and produced by Vancouver-based retailer Burb, the discussion with cultural tastemakers was held via Zoom with special guests and a live audience including NBA star and activist Al Harrington and celebrity stylist Avon Dorsey.
