The process costs just $5 per song.

SoundCloud is teaming with Dolby for a new feature that allows creators to master their songs without ever leaving their accounts on the streaming platform.

"Mastering on Soundcloud" is now available for $4.99 per master -- a flat fee regardless of the file type or quality. Subscribers to the platform's Pro Unlimited tier for creators will get three free masters per month, with the option to purchase more at the discounted price of $3.99 a pop, encouraging artists who master multiple tracks a month to upgrade.

"Dolby’s mastering technology doesn’t just analyze your track, it critically listens to your music similar to the way an engineer would -- identifying the details, the sections, and musical transitions that give your song its unique story arc," reads a SoundCloud blog post announcing the news. "Using the mastering profiles of your choice, this detailed 'sonic map' is then used to sculpt the tone and overall dynamic profile of your mix while prioritizing your creative intent."

Creators can even test the technology for free before taking the plunge.

To promote the new tool, SoundCloud is also introducing new livestream series "The Mastering Sessions," in which creators master forgotten gems, b-sides and demos; and the curated playlist "Mastered on SoundCloud" spotlighting songs which have utilized the feature.

Amid the current pandemic, SoundCloud has continued to update its suite of tools for creators. Last week, the platform launched Insights, which provides creators with enhanced listener data about their songs.
