The office will occupy the legendary former RedZone Entertainment (RZE) production complex and be helmed by new vp of creative Mike Jackson.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing is headed to Atlanta. As Georgia prepares to reopen some businesses amid the pandemic, the publishing company announced a new office and recording studio complex in the hip-hop and R&B capital today (April 29), which will also offer a slate of masterclasses and songwriter training workshops for Atlanta youth.

The new office led by vice president, creative Mike Jackson will occupy the legendary former RedZone Entertainment (RZE) production complex in Buckhead, which has long served as the foundation for music recorded by the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Future, Usher and The-Dream.

“Atlanta has been a major part of my journey for 25 years, and the community there has fostered some of my strongest friendships and relationships in the business," said Sony/ATV chairman and CEO Jon Platt. "I am so proud that we are officially expanding Sony/ATV’s presence into Atlanta and it is important that we give back to the city’s vibrant creative community. With this new office, we will offer the Atlanta music community special songwriter workshops and all of our best-in-class services.”

Added RZ3 CEO Tricky Stewart: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Sony/ATV to a city filled with some of the greatest songwriters and producers. Atlanta has been so good to me, and I want to keep that lifeline and inspiration going for upcoming creators in the same spirit that was done for me 25 years ago."

Sony/ATV's Atlanta office marks the company's fifth U.S. location. Jackson, an A&R veteran who has previously held roles at Blackground/Interscope, BlackFountain Publishing and EMI Music Publishing, has already signed two hit songwriters to Sony/ATV Atlanta: Bighead, a producer known for his work with artists like Gucci Mane and Lil Pump; and Priority Beats, an Atlanta-based production team that has worked with Lil Baby, Lil Tecca, Polo G, Jacquees, City Girls and more.

"It's an honor be a part of cultivating the careers of new and established songwriters, producers and artists in Atlanta with this new Sony/ATV initiative," Jackson said. "Atlanta has given us so much great culture and music over the years -- it is a tremendous pleasure to help give something great and resourceful back to the Atlanta music community."
