The vinyl mecca will relocate just a few blocks away.

The Hollywood outpost of Amoeba Music has found a new home just a few blocks from its current location.

The iconic record shop enlisted "friend" Tyler, the Creator to help spread the news in an Instagram video, where the rapper offers a first look at the new space at 6200 Hollywood Boulevard. Located in El Centro, a residential and retail complex that opened in 2018, the ground level space is just two blocks east and 2 blocks north of the store's current location at 6400 Sunset Boulevard, and nextdoor to the Fonda Theatre.

According to a new moving FAQ page on the Amoeba website, the move will happen sometime after Labor Day. "As long as Amoeba don't close, that's what I care about," Tyler says in the video.

News of the impending move first spread over the summer, when it was revealed that Amoeba's current Hollywood location would be turned into an apartment tower. Amoeba also has locations in Berkeley and San Francisco.

"We are humbled by the massive outpouring of support throughout this search from our customers and the LA community," reads a post on the Amoeba site. "We aim to do you proud and continue on as your supreme source for music, movies, and so much more. We will bring that familiar Amoeba energy into this new space and you can be sure it will provide the 'true Amoeba experience' as we will carry the same breadth and depth of selection."
