Cecconi has been an instrumental force in the careers of Rush, Steven Page, Ian Thomas and more.
TORONTO — Pegi Cecconi, the self-appointed "Queen of F--king Everything" who has worked alongside Ray Danniels and Rush since the 1970s, will be awarded the 2020 Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award at the upcoming Juno Awards in March, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced.
“Always a force to be reckoned with, her loyalty, foresight, and passion for what she does have benefited some of our country’s finest artists and helped them to garner international acclaim,” said CARAS president and CEO Allan Reid in a statement.
The Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose work has significantly impacted the growth and development of the Canadian music industry. It is named after the late co-founder of the long defunct industry trade RPM Weekly, which co-founded the Juno Awards.
