Republic Records has promoted Tyler Arnold to executive vp of A&R, the label's executive vp, Rob Stevenson, announced today (Jan. 8).

A Connecticut native, Arnold first joined the company as an intern in January 2014. Since coming on full-time five months later, he has spearheaded efforts to sign and develop Post Malone, partnered with super-producer Metro Boomin and his Boominati Worldwide label, and brought emerging acts like Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler into the Republic family.

“Tyler has proven himself to be one of the industry’s most prescient A&R executives," Stevenson shared. "His ability to recognize talent and execute a vision that nurtures an artist to their fullest potential makes him the total picture of a modern music executive. He is helping drive the sound of an entire generation.”

Based in New York City, Arnold previously served as vice president in 2017.

“I’m very excited to take this next step at Republic,” adds Mr. Arnold. “I started my career here as an intern and have been lucky to grow under the guidance and support of Monte, Avery and Rob over the past 5 years. They’ve entrusted me in signing and developing artists that I truly believe in and have been incredible mentors since the beginning.”

Republic closed out 2019 as the top label on Billboard's year-end charts, for the fourth time in the last five years (the label also tops in 2018, 2016 and 2015). It was also crowned the top Billboard Hot 100 label for a sixth year in a row (and the seventh time in the last eight years), powered by signees like Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Jonas BrothersDrake and Taylor Swift.
