Spotify is continuing its push into podcasting by inviting users to create their own.

As first reported by The Verge, code leaker Jane Wong noticed a new "Create podcast" button within Spotify's podcast library. If tapped, the button directs users to the app for podcast company Anchor (which Spotify acquired earlier this year), where they can create podcasts themselves.

The free Anchor app offers tools for recording, editing, background music and voice messaging. "With just one tap, your show will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and all other major listening platforms," read the instructions on Anchor's promo page within Spotify. "We can't wait to hear your podcast."

Currently, the feature appears to be available in Brazil.

A spokesperson for Spotify would not confirm whether the button will be rolled out permanently, but commented that "We are always testing new products and experiences to improve the overall Spotify experience. Some tests will eventually make way for upgrades to our product, others are only tests. We have no further news to share at this time."

Along with Anchor, Spotify now owns podcasting firms Gimlet Media and Parcast, part of a plan Spotify announced in February to invest $500 million on podcasting.
