Apple Music has now surpassed 60 million total subscribers worldwide. That figure includes paid and trial users, according to Apple.
Eddy Cue, the streaming giant's vp of services, confirmed that figure in an interview with French news site Numerama Thursday (June 27). The last update we got on Apple Music's subscriber count came from a Financial Times report in December, which put the total at 56 million, including both paid and free trial users.
Earlier this month, Apple announced that it will retire iTunes, and in his interview, Cue assured that all users' purchases and other iTunes playlists will be transferred seamlessly to the revamped Apple Music app.
