David Saslow has been tapped to fill the newly created position of executive vp, international artist relations and A&R for Atlantic Records. He will be based out of the label's New York headquarters. Atlantic chairman and COO Julie Greenwald and chairman and CEO Craig Kallman made the news public on Thursday (June 6).

“Since joining Atlantic 12 years ago, Sas has played a central role in the marketing and development of artists across our roster,” said Greenwald and Kallman in statement. “With music becoming increasingly global, it’s essential that we have an executive who is exclusively devoted to giving bespoke service to all the incredible artists joining us from around the world. David’s deep and diverse experience makes him the perfect choice for this important new post.”

Working closely with Atlantic and Warner Music A&R teams globally -- along with the label's U.S. departments -- in his new role, Saslow will oversee Atlantic's international roster stateside and focus on creative, bespoke strategies to develop the domestic careers of both emerging artists and top-tier talent. Atlantic's stable includes Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Stormzy, Charli XCX, Marina, Clean Bandit, Robin Schulz, Anitta and more.

Saslow was previously senior vp, video content, programming and production and then general manager of Atlantic. Before that, he was head of video at Interscope, where he started in 1995. But his music business career really took off in 1992 with a stint in the video department of Elektra Entertainment.
