'Old Town Road' Rapper Lil Nas X Signs With CAA
Atlanta singer, songwriter and rapper Lil Nas X has signed with CAA for worldwide representation.
Lil Nas X released rap country single “Old Town Road” in December and rose to viral fame as the associated “Yeehaw Challenge” gained traction on social media app TikTok.
Since then, the single has been streamed more than 300 million times worldwide and continues to sit at the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the sixth consecutive week.
“Old Town Road” also broke the all-time record for most streams in a week, breaking a previous record held by Drake’s “In My Feelings,” and is currently three-times platinum.
In April, the 20-year-old rapper made his first-ever live appearance at Stagecoach festival in Southern California. Lil Nas X performed alongside collaborators Billy Ray Cyrus and Diplo at the country music festival.
Lil Nas X continued his rounds on the festival circuit with an appearance alongside Cyrus at last weekend’s Rolling Loud in Miami. The artist is also expected to take the stage at Boston Calling on May 25, along with other summer festivals.
Lil Nas X will continue to be managed by Adam Leber, Gee Roberson and Zach Kardisch at Maverick Management and David Jacobs at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks, P.C. His label is Columbia Records.
