Paul Sinclair has been promoted to GM and executive vp of Atlantic Records, the label's chairman and COO Julie Greenwald and chairman and CEO Craig Kallman announced Monday (May 13). He has been with Atlantic since 2006 and most recently held the role of executive vp digital strategy and innovation. He will continue to operate out of New York.

"Paul came on board just as we were transforming Atlantic into a company where digital innovation is at the heart of our artist development strategy," said Greenwald and Kallman in a joint statement. "He's brilliant at translating our artists' personal creative visions into the digital universe, and a passionate advocate for constantly reinventing what we're doing to best serve the music. Paul is an invaluable, dedicated member of our senior executive team, and we're thrilled to give him this wider platform to help take us into the future."

Leading Atlantic's digital department, Sinclair was named to Billboard's Digital Power Players list in 2016 and 2017 as he helped build long-term profile- and stream-boosting digital campaigns for the label's acts, including Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Hayley Kiyoko, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Kehlani, Melanie Martinez, A R I Z O N A, Melanie Martinez and more.

Moving forward, according to the announcement, Sinclair will focus on strategies to keep Atlantic at the forefront of modern culture, bringing his marketing and creative experience to a wide scope of company initiatives.

"It's been the most incredible experience to be part of the evolution of Atlantic under Julie and Craig," added Sinclair. "We're always thinking about how to stay ahead of the curve, in the digital space and across every area of the company. It's all about finding the most inspired and inventive ways to nurture and advance our artists' careers. I'm looking forward to this amazing new opportunity to contribute to the continuing transformation of this amazing company."

Prior to joining Warner Music Group (WMG) in 2001 as director, digital properties, Sinclair held roles including project management at a web development startup and various roles at a software company working for the U.S. Department of Defense.

He is a frequent speaker at media and music forums with recent guest lectures about innovation in the music industry at William Paterson University, Columbia University, New York University and Albright College. He holds a master's degree in information science from Penn State and a bachelor's degree in business from Albright College.
