Emily Spence Named Head of Communications at Valence Media

Emily Spence has been named executive vp, head of communications at Valence Media, parent company of the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group.
In this newly created role, Spence will be responsible for developing and executing all communications strategies for Valence and its companies, which include television and film studio MRC, Billboard-The Hollywood Reporter Media Group and Dick Clark productions. She will report to co-CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu.
"Emily is a smart, strategic and thoughtful communications executive who brings great experience and instincts to this role," Wiczyk and Satchu said in a joint statement. Spence most recently ran a communications practice with clients including Amazon Studios, AT&T Audience Network, BuzzFeed, Meredith Corporation, Microsoft, Warner Bros. Television and NBCUniversal International TV Studios.
She previously served as vp at USA Network, leading the first season and awards campaign for the network's Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning drama Mr. Robot.
She also has held other communications roles at A&E Networks, Viacom, agency FerenComm and Syfy.
Valence Media was created in February 2018 to house the media assets of Todd Boehly's Eldridge Industries. Valence comprises Dick Clark Productions, the producer of the annual Golden Globe Awards and New Year's Rockin' Eve, and MRC, the production outfit behind films like Baby Driver and such TV series as Ozark and House of Cards, as well as the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group.
Valence also has minority stakes in film studio A24 along with the production company Fulwell 73.
